How to Clean Inside Car Windows

If you’ve noticed that your views of the Corona roads ahead are not quite clear, a dirty windshield could be the culprit. Here is how to get your windshield looking its best for unobstructed driving on the roads of Fontana.

  • Use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the inside of the windshield before applying any cleaning products. This helps to get rid of grime or dirt before you get started.
  • Spray the glass cleaner of your choice on the microfiber cleaning cloth and wipe down the inside of the windshield.
  • Take a clean microfiber cloth and apply rubbing alcohol. Wipe down the inside of the windshield. This added step can eliminate grease that has built up on the windshield over time.
  • For the best possible results, use another round of glass cleaner or a glass polish.
  • Your windshield should now be crystal clear!

Can You Use Windex on Car Windows?

A common question we hear at Riverside Kia is, “Can you use Windex on car windows? The answer to this question is usually yes. If you have tinted windows, you may want to use Windex with caution. Windows that were tinted at the factory should not be damaged by the use of Windex, but if the windows have been tinted by a third party, you may want to avoid Windex just to be safe.

If you are going to use Windex inside of your vehicle and you have leather seats, you will need to be careful to avoid getting Windex on your upholstery. It has the potential to dry out or discolor the leather.

Additional Helpful Tips for Cleaning Your Car Windows

  • If possible, opt for a microfiber cleaning cloth rather than paper towels. Paper towels often leave behind small paper fibers, and they are more likely to leave streaks on your windows.
  • Use a circular motion with your microfiber cleaning cloth to remove dirt and grime. To eliminate streaks at the end, wipe vertically with the microfiber cloth.
  • If you are having trouble reaching the tight corners of your windshield, try a handy reach-and-clean tool.
